A fascinating collection of works for this odd instrumentation. Keeping it in the family, Jacques Israelievitvh has become a popular and acive member of the Canadian music scene since becoming Concertmaster of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Before that Mr. Israelievich had served as Concertmaster in both Chicago and St. Louis.
His son, Michael just graduated from Juilliard in 2005. He had seved as Principal timpanist of the National Repertory Orchestra in Breckenridge, Colorado.
This is the pair's second recording on Fleur de Son (Suite Fantasie- Fleur de Son 57941) but their first as the Israelievitch Duo.
