| Information: A native of Maine, Martin Piecuch has performed, conducted and taught all over the US. He also has built an impressve career overseas, especially his 16 trips to Russia. It is there he met the Stravinsky Quartet, of the St. Petersburg State Philharmony. The works on thsi CD are unique in instrumentaion and sound world...though quite natural as the large range of expression, tone color and emotion from the saxphone can blend so well with strings. Here we are presented with works by the Chicago born and educated Leon Stein, two works by the Dutch composer Alphonse Stalleart, including the humorous Bestiare and then finally a work by German composer Gerhard Maasz | ||
