Information:
AmeriMusic is pleased to offer many CD releases by Douglas Jimerson, an American tenor, who has made American patriotic music his specialty since 1995. He has sung at The Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, Major League baseball games, the U.S. Capitol and other patriotic venues. His recordings offer the rarely recorded vocal music from America's early years - the Revolution through the Civil War. This particular recording allows him to use his knowledge of 19th century song and performance techniques in interpretations of songs by Beethoven. The great master's songs are probably the least recorded of his output. They call for an almost 'bel canto' control of the voice along with a razor-sharp attention to dynamics. The Washington Post has said of Douglas Jimerson's voice, "For years, Jimerson has been researching and performing music of the 19th century. He hs an ideal voice for it - not heavily operatic but light, clear and agile, with a knack for getting the words across.
